Summit is mission
For a mountain climber a summit is is the highest point to be reached. For the apostles then and the church today, the summit is not an obstacle but the mission that Christ has given us – to be His witnesses. The apostles understood the magnitude and the longevity of the summit and that this would be a team effort. They committed to gathering with a transformational purpose, recognizing the awe and wonder of God and being generous.
